• The course took place once a week on Tuesdays, and lasted one hour per class.
• For each class, there was a student that was a discussion leader and another student giving a 20-25 minute presentation on on a topic.
  • The discussion leader was responsible for introducing the oral presenter for that given class period and for managing the discussion after the presentation
• The theme of the SoSe 2008 S&D course was Global Change. To get an idea about the topics that were discussed and presented in the course, please donwload the schedule here.
  • Topics included: urban ecology, decline of amphibians, fragmenting of landscapes by roads, among others.
  • One discussion leader decided to go the extra mile and came up with a Jeoporady-like, based off of the television quiz show.
  • The teachers of this S&D were Justyna Wolinska, Jonathan Jeschke and Stephan Hutter.
