The Meeting
The annual evolutionary biology PhD meeting of the DZG is an unique opportunity for graduate students (Diplom, Master, PhD) in evolutionary biology to present their recent progress and to get to know each other both in a formal and informal environment. This year’s edition will be held in Munich from the 5th till the 8th of March 2009. We are looking forward to welcoming you in beautiful Munich.
Who should join?
Diplom and master students, PhD students and young post docs who are interested in any aspect of evolutionary biology are encouraged to come to the meeting. The meeting is traditionally organized by the evolution group of the German Zoological Society, but botanists, mycologists, theoreticians, phylogeneticists, evolutionary ecologists etc etc are equally welcome. Germans and non-Germans working in Germany or abroad are welcome. The meeting is the ideal opportunity to give a talk about your Diplom, master or PhD thesis. It is also great to find out what other people in Germany are doing and where you would like to do a PhD or post doc.
The invited speakers
- Professor Dr Olaf Bininda-Emonds from Oldenburg. See here for an interview with him.
Sonja Grath, Stefan Laurent and Jennifer Lohr are organizing this year's meeting. Sonja is a PhD student in the evolutionary and functional genomics group of Professor John Parsch. Stefan is a PhD student in the evolutionary biology group of Professor Wolfgang Stephan. Jennifer is a Master student who works in the evolutionary ecology group of Professor Justyna Wolinska. All three work at the Biozentrum of the LMU Munich.
