What you should never forget to say and show at the beginning of your talk:

  • Can you hear me in the back? / Thanks for the introduction. (just to make sure everybody is listening)
  • Hello audience. (good afternoon, I am happy to see you came)
  • I am .... (name on first slide)
  • I have worked on this topic in the last year together with X and Y and Z at the university of A and B. (the reason

why they should believe what you say - all names should be on first slide)

  • I will talk for about 20 minutes.
  • Please feel free to interupt for questions. (the audience should know if questions are allowed)
  • My talk is organized in three parts...
